About Ed McNeely, B.Sc., M.Sc.


Ed has been involved in the strength and conditioning industry since 1990 and has become one of the world’s leading experts in performance enhancement. He’s been a fitness consultant to 17 Canadian National sports teams, 14 NCAA athletics programs, and 6 professional hockey and football teams. Under his guidance, Ed’s clients have achieved success at the highest level of sports, collectively winning dozens of Olympic medals and over a hundred other international awards and championships. 
 
Ed’s masterful ability to help people achieve their performance goals has also made him a highly sought after speaker at national and international sports and fitness conferences, and he has given more than 200 presentations around the world.
 
Ed has authored five books on health and fitness — several of which have been translated into other languages for international distribution — and has been a contributor on several others. Ed was a columnist for the CBC.ca hockey website, and has also published hundreds of articles on strength training and athletic conditioning,plyometrics, assessing fitness, speed and power development, and aerobic fitness. He is also frequently called upon as an expert consultant, acting as a resource for articles in such prestigious journals as Muscle & Fitness, Outside Magazine, the Georgia Tech Sports Medicine Newsletter, the Discovery Channel, and more.
 
Ed also has an extensive background in performance and occupational research, assisting with the analysis and development of fitness test standards and protocols for emergency medical technicians, police officers, firefighters, military personnel, and other professions with a high physical fitness demand. He has also helped several high profile companies develop fitness-screening programs for their emergency response teams.
 
Ed is currently a faculty member at the United States Sports Academy, and serves as a reviewer for three scientific publications. He is looking forward to serving on the Evolv Wellness Council to share his considerable experience and knowledge for the benefit of our e84 Challengers!
